PUTRAJAYA, 27 Februari 2026 – Ibu Pejabat JMG telah menerima kunjungan delegasi daripada JICA dan Universiti Akita sempena pelancaran rasmi “Project for Capacity Development for Value Chain Development in the Mining Sector”.
Majlis ini menandakan bermulanya kolaborasi strategik antara Kementerian Ekonomi (KE), Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Kelestarian Alam (NRES), dan JICA bersama JMG.
Program ini turut menampilkan barisan penyelidik terkemuka dari Universiti Akita yang akan bertindak sebagai rakan kolaborasi bersama pegawai dari JMG Perak dalam mengendalikan seminar, kerja-kerja pensampelan di tapak, serta penyelidikan di makmal
Majlis pelancaran tersebut telah disempurnakan oleh YBhg. Datuk P.Geol. Zamri bin Ramli, Ketua Pengarah JMG Malaysia, manakala ucapan penutup disampaikan oleh Dr. Hosoi Yoshitaka, Penasihat Khas Sumber Asli JICA selaku Ketua Delegasi.
Adalah diharapkan agar menjelang akhir projek ini, objektif utamanya dapat dicapai, iaitu memperkukuh rantai nilai perlombongan Unsur Nadir Bumi (REE). Ini merangkumi peningkatan keupayaan teknikal, pemantapan tadbir urus, pembangunan modal insan, serta pengukuhan ekosistem industri perlombongan secara menyeluruh di Malaysia.

PUTRAJAYA, 27 February 2026 – JMG Headquarters welcomed a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Akita University for the official kick-off of the “Project for Capacity Development for Value Chain Development in the Mining Sector.”
This ceremony marks the formal commencement of a strategic collaboration between KE, NRES and JICA with JMG. The program also features esteemed researchers from Akita University, who will act as collaborative partners together with officer from JMG Perak in conducting seminars, on-site sampling and laboratory work.
The kick-off ceremony was formally officiated by the Honourable Datuk P.Geol. Zamri bin Ramli, Director General of JMG Malaysia and the closing remarks were delivered by Dr. Hosoi Yoshitaka, as the Head Delegation and Special Advisor for Natural Resources for JICA.
Hopefully by the end of the project, we will achieve its core objective: strengthening the Rare Earth Element (REE) mining value chain including technical capabilities, governance, human resource development and the overall industry ecosystem in Malaysia.
